Usage notes
- This phrase has a syntactical subject 腹. Thus the semantic subject is usually indefinite or implied. Otherwise, the semantic subject can be introduced as an absolute topic with は/も, or as the possessor of the syntactical subject with の. Also, the subject marker が may be omitted, giving 腹立つ, or when the phrase is used attributively, may be replaced by の, giving 腹の立つ.
