1. (distributive suffix) Added to a noun.
   1. It can express the manner when something happens to each member of a set one by one.

      fej (“head”) → fejenként (“per head”)

      eset (“case”) → esetenként (“in some case”)

   2. It can also express the frequency in time.

      tíz perc (“ten minutes”) → tízpercenként (“every ten minutes”)

      hét (“week”) → hetenként (“once a week”)

      év (“year”) → évenként (“annually, yearly”)

• (distributive suffix) Variants:

  -nként is added to nouns ending in a vowel. Final -a changes to -á-. Final -e changes to -é-.

  óra (“hour”) → óránként (“every hour”)

  -enként is added to unrounded front vowel nouns ending in a consonant

  fej (“head”) → fejenként (“per head”)

  -anként is added to some back vowel nouns ending in a consonant

  ház (“house”) → házanként (“per house”)

  -onként is added to some back vowel nouns ending in a consonant
