Etymology
    
Perhaps from earlier *Hacanáh (compare Old Avestan 𐬀𐬯𐬇𐬥𐬋 (asə̄nō)), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Haćanás, genitive singular of *Háćmā (“stone”). Cognate with Sanskrit अशन् (áśan), अश्नस् (áśnas), अश्ना (áśnā, “stone”, instr.).
