Cognate with Slovene plȃhta (“blanket”), Ukrainian пла́хта (pláxta, “checkered fabric”), Czech plachta (“sail, canvas, cover”), Polish płachta (“row”), Upper Sorbian płachta (“sheet”), Lower Sorbian płachta (“sheet”), Polabian plóchtă (“handkerchief, tablecloth, sheet”).
