New Zealand cricket team in Bangladesh in 2023–24
The New Zealand men's cricket team is touring Bangladesh in September 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches.[1][2] The International Cricket Council (ICC) finalized the bilateral series in a press release.[3] The matches were used as preparation for both teams ahead of the 2023 Cricket World Cup.[4] Following the World Cup, the New Zealand team will return in November 2023 to play two Test matches.[5] The Test series will be a part of 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.[6]

In the ODI series, the 1st ODI was washed away due to rain, while New Zealand won the 2nd and 3rd ODi with a comprehensive margin of 86 runs and 7 wickets respectively. Thus, it was the first ODI series win for New Zealand in Bangladesh since 2008.
Squads
- Bangladesh rested Litton Das, Tamim Iqbal from the third ODI while Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar and Khaled Ahmed were excluded from the squad. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan and Shoriful Islam were included in the squad for the third ODI, while Shanto being named the captain of Bangladesh for the third ODI.[9]

- Ish Sodhi became the first New Zealand spinner to take 6 wickets in an ODI and his bowling figure of 6 for 39 is the best bowling figure by any New Zealand spinner.[10]
- This was New Zealand's first win in an ODI in Bangladesh since 2008.
3rd ODI
