Borrowed from Persian شاباش (šâbâš), from the term شاد باش (šâd bâš, “be happy!”), from شاد (“happy”) + باش (“be”). Doublet of শাদি (śadi) and সাদমান (śadoman). Cognate with Marathi शाबास (śābās).
