அவி • (avi) (intransitive)

1. to feel intense heat, burn (as opposed to bask)

   வெயிலில் நான் அவிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்

   veyilil nāṉ avintu koṇṭirukkiṟēṉ

   I am burning in the sunlight.

2. to go out, be extinguished
3. be boiled

   Synonym: வேகு (vēku)

   காய்கறிகளை அவித்து கூட்டு செய்துள்ளேன்.

   kāykaṟikaḷai avittu kūṭṭu ceytuḷḷēṉ.
