Etymology
Possibly related to Burmese မြန်မာ (mranma, “Myanmar; Burma; Burmese”), Tibetan བྲན (bran, “servant, slave”). Also compare with မင်း from Burmese အလွန်အမင်း (a.lwan-a.mang:, “very, extremely”).
