1. (numeral-forming suffix) -th. Added to a cardinal number to form an ordinal number.

   nulla (“zero”) → nulladik (“zeroth”)

• (numeral-forming suffix) It can be used with all cardinal numbers except egy (“one”) and kettő (“two”). Harmonic variants:

  -dik is added to words ending in a vowel

  -odik is added to some back-vowel words

  -adik is added to other back-vowel words

  -edik is added to unrounded front-vowel words

  -ödik is added to rounded front-vowel words

-dik

1. Used to form verbal nouns, or non-subject participles. It has a realis sense, as opposed to -me. As any noun, it can take possessive suffixes to express person.

   Küçük kedi, dün getirdiğim sütü içti.

   The little cat drank the milk I brought yesterday (i.e. bringing the milk to the cat did happen).

(after a vowel or a voiced consonant)

• -dik (after unrounded front vowels i, e)
• -dık (after unrounded back vowels ı, a)
• -dük (after rounded front vowels ü, ö)
• -duk (after rounded back vowels u, o)

(after a voiceless consonant)

• -tik (after unrounded front vowels i, e)
• -tık (after unrounded back vowels ı, a)
• -tük (after rounded front vowels ü, ö)
• -tuk (after rounded back vowels u, o)

Before another vowel of the same word, k changes to ğ
