ܙܒܢܐ

From a variant of Aramaic זִמְנָא‎ (zimnā), itself either from Old Persian *jamānā or Akkadian simānu. The meaning of time as an abstract concept is from Persian influence. Compare Hebrew זְמַן‎, Arabic زَمَان‎ (zamān) and Persian زمان‎ (zamân).
