From Serbo-Croatian pazariti (to shop) + -ol (verb-forming suffix); from pazar (bazaar, market), from Ottoman Turkish پازار (pazar), from Persian بازار (bâzâr, bazaar, market). Its stem is a doublet of bazár and vásár.
