Usage notes
Used for self-immolation performed as an extreme form of protest or religious ritual. Implies that the act was completed (i.e., resulted in death). The word samopodpalenie does not imply death and is also used for cases of accidental self-immolation. See also the reflexive meaning of podpalić.
