From Philippine Hokkien 我空矣 (óa-khàng ah!, “expletive; my heavens!; OMG!; wow!”). Compare with Mandarin 我的天 (wǒ de tiān, “my heavens!”) and Mandarin 天啊 (tiān a, “heavens!”).
