From Aramaic יַרחָא (yarḥā), from Proto-Semitic *warḫ-; compare Hebrew יָרֵחַ (yaréakh, “moon”).

- month (A period into which a year is divided, historically based on the phases of the moon.)
- ܟܠ ܫܹܢ݇ܬܵܐ ܢܝܼܣܵܢ ܝܲܪܚܵܐ ܒܪܝܼܟ݂ܵܐ ܝܠܹܗ- kul šētā nīsān yarḵā brīḵā ìlēh.
