From Khmer ដំណាក់ (dɑmnak, “resting place; lodging”), an extended form of ដាក់ (dak, “to establish; to locate, to place, to put; to assign; to fasten, to lock up; etc”), from Old Khmer tāka, tâka, tāk, tak, takk (“to establish; to locate; to place”).

   • 1 Kings, 14:12, KJV:
