mbarë
Albanian
Etymology
From mbar (“I bring (back), return”) (from Proto-Albanian *en-bara; further related to Albanian mbart (“I bear, carry”), mbaroj (“I finish, complete, end, fulfill, comply”), mbaj (“I carry, hold”)).[1]
Orel disagrees with Meyer; proposed it as a tabooistically used loanword for Latin impar (“uneven, unequal”).[2]
